Pearl Necklace with Cross

A necklace with a cross is an extremely personal piece of jewelry. I own just one. I bought it shortly after my maternal grandmother passed away. Now for me, the cross wasn't necessarily representative of any religion. I've pretty much been an agnostic my entire life, not really being exposed enough to religion to form an opinion one way or the other.

But I understand how important crosses are to people, and for many different reasons. Shortly after my grandmother passed away, my desire to own a cross necklace became something very important to me. I found comfort in the thought of wearing one as a reminder of my grandmother's life, and how very significant she was to me.

I feel great comfort when I wear my cross necklace. I miss my grandmother more than words could ever express. Despite her physical absence from the world, I know that her spirit lives on, especially when I reach up and gently touch my cross. It's a tangible and thoughtful way to commemorate the life of someone or something which has proven significant in your life. 

I can think of no better way to remember my grandmother.
